Conveniently close to Britain, France offers wonderful opportunities for wildlife watching, in a diverse variety of habitats, from flower-rich alpine meadows to lush woodlands, dry Mediterranean maquis to ancient pastures, and a host of other wild places besides.

Greece offers abundant wildlife watching opportunities. A wealth of butterflies and orchids are to be found here, and a warm welcome at local, family-run hotels.
